Scott Sowers Hi Sal,

I've been told I look like a lot of people but never an elderly fictional character. Here's the list in a roughly chronological order: Jeremy Irons, Michael Gross, Alan Alda, Dennis Hopper, Jesus, and lately Bradley Whitford (actor, not Aerosmith). Has anybody ever told you, you bare a passing resemblance to a young Andre the Giant?

Scott Sowers My father's biological father vanished from the scene when my dad was a little kid. Nobody seems to know much about him or where he ended up. At one point my dad returned to his old home town to look for clues and see if anything would jog a memory.
Scott Sowers Ideas for fiction always come from whatever is going on around me, then amplified and plotted.
Scott Sowers Actually writing is my favorite part and I usually can't wait to start. Research is not so fun for me. Prospecting, marketing and being a businessman are not inspiring for me.
Scott Sowers In the world of fiction I'm about 60 pages into a sequel for "Dog Park." In non-fiction I'm writing an in-depth report on the utility industry in the U.S. very wonky but for me, also very interesting...
Scott Sowers I think it's important to read other writers. Good ones, bad ones, award winners, best sellers and stuff with a good cover. It won't compromise your voice but it will widen your perspective.
Scott Sowers For me, it's something that I enjoy and sometimes I get paid for it. If you can find something you like doing that pays your bills, many of your problems in life will be stopped before they are started.
Scott Sowers Lucky for me, I rarely get it. Sometimes I have trouble coming up with a story lead. When that happens I write the dumbest lead I can think up, let it sit for awhile, then go back and edit. A famous write once said, "I don't write, I re-write."
