Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

William L. Thompson I spent the last 20 years of my career in charge of operations for a large part of the electric grid in Virginia and North Carolina. During that time I showed numerous groups of interested people how the grid works. I was often asked if there is a book available that explains the grid in layman's terms, but I was not aware of any. So when I retired I took on the challenge of trying to describe the grid for the person with a curiosity about it. Living on the Grid is the result.
