(view spoiler)[I realize that you are dead, Alice Adams, aren’t you? So who is writing these answers? Whoever you are, thank you very much, I’m very relieved either did not die in the water. (hide spoiler)]

I’m very much alive (and English) - the other Alice Adams, sadly deceased, was a US writer. I heartily recommend her book Superior Women :)

Gosh no! I saw it as Eva having a moment of catharsis, feeling her way to an understanding and acceptance of the realities of her life in the vastness of the ocean. Glad you loved the rest of the book and hope that makes the ending more forgivable. One of these days I’ll finish the sequel… :)

Thank you, Sharon, that’s really lovely to hear and has given me a lift as I continue to write my next book. My sister is also sheltering in place in Northern California. Strange times.

Ah, that's lovely to hear and to be mentioned in such good company, thank you. The next book is in the pipeline, I'm working on it, I promise...

Walk, walk, walk.

I'm hard at work on it now, so watch this space...

I hadn't, but I will now...
The other confusing thing is that there is also a (now deceased) US writer called Alice Adams. She's famous mainly for her short stories. I read her novel Superior Women kinda hoping to hate it, but unfortunately it's fantastic.
