Just right now focused on getting Innovation Thinking Methods out finally.
But this is a part of five or so books I've wanted to write to capture a certain framework of thought I have about various facets of building innovation-focused companies.
I have lots of drafts and notes and ideas and scribbles on the other books. But depending on how readers like this one, I'd love to explore with them what the best next topic should be to write about.

Coffee. Lots of it :)
Seriously though, for me what helps is to kickstart the creative process through any means. I usually try to tackle a much smaller, different type of creative project. Either a series of blog posts about an unrelated topic (even if I don't publish them); or a short story; or photography or something else, then come back to the blocked thing once the creative mind is working again.
But... it's still 98% lots of deep, deep coffee.

People who've been following the tech / startup industry would have seen that in recent years, there's been a general shift towards "lean thinking" as a recommended way of building companies.
I've always been an advocate for the opposite: that great, successful, "world-changing" companies aren't built by playing it safe-and-steady, but rather by tackling tough problems to solve, and leading with ambitious solutions that can capture the attention of an attention-starved world.
I was motivated, then, to put together some of the methods and techniques me and my teams have used over the years to find those types of "10x better" solutions, into an overarching thinking discipline that I'm calling "innovation-thinking". These methods are very easy to learn and implement, and can be adopted by anyone to kick-start big thinking.
I hope innovation-thinking becomes a solid alternative to lean-thinking, and something that refocuses more entrepreneurs on the pursuit of more meaningful things to build. That'd make the world much better, much faster, for everyone.

I think of writing a book just the same as creating a product: It's the process of overcoming the inertia to change. I actually faced a lot of inertia writing this book, as I'm sure a lot of other writers can relate.
Overcoming inertia to change for me comes from knowing that it's possible to solve some of the big problems in the world by inspiring possibility in the minds of others. That's something I've always loved to do, and I know is possible through the power of writing.
As long as there's a wrong to right, a problem to solve, and a perspective I can offer to help with that situation, I find myself motivated to share it.
