Writing in longhand is one of the best decisions I've ever made as a writer. It's so much easier to keep going, even if you're not totally sure about what you're writing. If you're on a computer, you're always going back to read what you just wrote, or what you wrote yesterday, and fiddling with it Just That Little Bit More--or worse, wasting time online (um, guilty). When you write in a notebook, it takes longer, but it also focuses you much better on the task at hand.
Bonus: when I go to type up my handwritten work (usually days after the fact), I often find myself making substantial edits and changes that might never have occurred to me if I'd written it all on a computer in the first place.
If you're still not convinced, buy a fountain pen. Being 100% serious here. Those are fun and fancy!
