Kenzie Macallan My travels around the world set the scene for many of my books. The mysteries have included being told by a tarot card readers about 15 years ago that I would write a book. I thought she was crazy! Who's crazy now?
Kenzie Macallan I love Ava O'Shea and Jess Ward from Jodi Ellen Malpas' "This Man" series. these two take each others' flaws and mold them. The angst and sheer emotion are seen through the push and pull of them trying to find their way. I read this series awhile ago and yet, they stuck with me. I attribute that to the wonderful writing of the author.
Kenzie Macallan I try to get really calm and just let the words come to me. They are all there. It's just a matter of letting them go and do their thing. Sometimes you need a break and have to walk away. I'll do some gardening, baking, reading, or exercise. You have to unplug to plug in again.
Kenzie Macallan The best thing about being an author is the escape from reality. As readers, we escape into another world. As a writer, you get to create that world, characters, actions, and reactions. I also have a love of learning. I have learned so much about the writing process, editing, covers, etc. I have met some amazing writers along the way. It has been a very rich experience so far.
Kenzie Macallan Writing comes from the soul. No matter what you do, just keep writing. Let it all flow out of you. The rearranging and editing can come later. But please don't give up. I'm a huge supporter of new authors. It's a tough business but I like to be supportive to my fellow authors.
Kenzie Macallan I am currently working on "Edges: Art of Eros Series, Book 2". It's Leigh's story and it promises to be even more action packed than Mara's story. There are a lot more surprises in this book. They are whoopers!
Kenzie Macallan I listen to people, watch the news and most of all I let the characters speak to me. Sometimes they won't stop!
Kenzie Macallan This may be the worse answer yet. I have banging around this some ideas for about a year, I woke up and had all three books in my head, Riveted, Edges, and Blurred Lines. Each one is dedicated to a sister.
