There's not one thing that inspires me, it's a lot of little things that add up. Living in the country on an active farm full of different animals with strong personalities, my family and friends, books, movies, songs, paintings, the gardens, cookbooks, and on and on it goes. Inspiration never ends, and I always look forward to my writing time.

Read, read, read, then read some more. Reading a diversity of books helps you to understand how books are written. It's also a good way to find what you really love and what you may want to write. All writers are avid readers. If the story your writing is not one that you would love to sit down and read, then you need a different story.

Being able to get lost in other people's (character's) stories and lives, and exploring the places the would have lived.

My latest book, Unwilling Promise (to be released Nov 11th), is inspired by two different things. 1: A small Ukrainian church near the Canadian border in Northwestern Minnesota (this is were the story actually takes place). 2: The story of how my Grandparents came together (not your normal love story).

I am currently working on a Historical Romance Novel that is set around a small Ukrainian church in Northwestern Minnesota and the unconventional arrangement between a couple of Ukrainian immigrants that helped built it.

How I deal with writer's block? Well, I do volunteer work. By helping out in the community I get to meet new people, and learn a lot of new things from them. Most of which finds its way into my writing at some point, it gives me an endless fountain of stuff to work with.
