My favorite fictional couple is Joe and Marybeth Pickett. They seem very real, having to deal with their 3 daughters and Joe's job as a game warden. C. J. Box does a marvelous job depicting them as two ordinary people trying to live out their daily lives. This is their charm. They are an ordinary couple trying to raise their daughters and get thru each day, as we all must.

"Go Forward Into The Storm - An Iwo Jima Journal" My most recent book. I found all the letters written from my dad to my mom during his time on Iwo Jima. Having read his journal, I thought I could tell his story using both sources. This book has been received very well.

Perseverance and bulldog tenacity. It took me 8 months of submittals before a publisher picked up my second book. First book was self-published and I advise aspiring writers to stay away from this venue.

Having an idea, putting it on paper and receiving so many positive reviews. It is most gratifying that a story you are attempting to convey gets across to the readers.

With the three books I have written, I have not suffered much in the way of writers block. Two books were about Gettysburg which I have a passion for and my latest book was about my fathers time on Iwo Jima in WW II, from his journals, diaries and letters home. When I reach a spot where I am stale, I step away from the computer and go for a walk or do errands. When I get back to writing, I usually retype the last few lines and carry on.
