A.C. Cooper Hi Mary, welcome!

If I recall correctly, I think you search the website for it and then look for the option to claim it. If you don't find the book listed you can add it yourself. If you run into any issues the librarians here are very helpful.
A.C. Cooper Which one? lol
Seriously, though. I've got a longer book "In His Name" that I'm working on...about 10k words so far. I've no idea how long it will be, but I think I can safely say it's way past short fiction.

Anyway, I got the idea after deciding to focus on being more descriptive in my writing, using all five senses. That's all I can say about that one.

My other one is a short story idea from one of the groups here on goodreads. It's a lot of fun and is due by the 31st of December for the chance to win a small prize. The prize would be nice, but in actuality, I just love the story idea...it's fun so far. If I finish this one early I may write another one. :-D
A.C. Cooper I don't. I just show up and the inspiration takes hold after a sentence or two (or after I've read what I've already written).
A.C. Cooper Write.
Finish what you write.
Put what you write out into the world to share for others.
Keep writing and keep sharing.

(a/k/a a paraphrase of Heinlein's rules.) :-D
A.C. Cooper I get to create people and worlds out of thin air and give them fun and exciting things to do and see. As a "discovery" writer I get to learn about my characters just as I do when reading a book.

And we all know how much fun it is to do that!
A.C. Cooper I'd definitely spend some time in Narni hoping to speak with Aslan. :-)
A.C. Cooper I'm writing a Jazz and Slade story - the two main characters in my Murder in Blue Lake series.

I hadn't planned on the story becoming a series, but I love the characters so much I had to come back to it.

This story begins with Jazz on her home planet, right before she decides to come to Earth.
A.C. Cooper Write something...anything. For example, when I'm stuck in a current work in progress I simply write something like, "I have no idea what Jazz is going to do, will she shoot the bastard, or..."
Before you know it, the writer's block is gone and I'm zooming off again.

Another thing I do is get up and take a break. Sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for hours and sometimes it's the next day, but interestingly if I let more than a day go between writing sessions it makes it more difficult to get going again. :)
