(view spoiler)[My most recent book, 'inventory of the Universe' came about almost as an afterthought. Originally I had no intention of writing it.
Here's the dilemma I realized exists: Many people are seeking answers to all sorts of questions about Life. Why? How come suffering, death? Where did it originate? etc. etc. To find answers people have basically four options:
1. Leaders, Experience, History and the lessons humanity has learned.
2. Philosophy and what humanities greatest minds propose.
3. Science and all the facts and theories scientists have accumulated.
4. Religion and a belief in some sort of a 'God.' There are about 4000+ religions in the world today.
The series of books I'm writing is entitled 'The Explanation.' As I surveyed this vast agenda I realized that we all look to different sources within or across the above four themes ... as a basis for answering our queries about Life.
Historical works, Philosophical works, Scientific works and Religious works. We are very attached to the particular 'works' we choose and use to develop our 'arguments' about Life. They represent our basis. We all differ somewhat resulting in contradictions and debates and sometimes agreement but also war.
My reasoning told me I needed to go right back to the very beginning and somehow clarify ALL these sources and show why such and such is the one we want to start using. Yes, I'm being vague!
My first book 'Inventory of the Universe' surveys Big Bang all the way to man's mind.
Why?
For two main reasons:
1. We humans are sponges of 'facts'. Unfortunately we don't see how all facts are really part of a whole picture. Certain 'facts' we're attached to obscure other 'facts' that are out there. It's like a puzzle with some, or even a lot, of the pieces missing. 'Inventory of the Universe' is designed to make you aware of the myriad pieces present in the puzzle.
2. If we want to answer the 'Big Question in and about Life' then we have to go to a source that covers the gamut of the pieces in the puzzle. If a source only covers a portion of the pieces ... then where are the answers for the missing pieces?
So the question is: Does History and or Philosophy and or Science and or Religion cover all these questions? Are their answers giving us a coherent overall picture?
We need a source of information that is not only reliable, but also complete.
The Explanation cannot be my explanation, neither yours. I'm just as dumb ... maybe even dumber than you are! Frankly, when we get down to it, we're all pretty dumb!
So, where's this 'source document?' Is there even a 'source document?'
Inventory of the Universe asks the questions, reveals the conundrums and catch-22 situations in the Universe, on Earth and with Mankind that this source document must broach, tackle, address and give explanations for.
‘Inventory of the Universe’ opens Pandora's box of how to reach The Explanation. (hide spoiler)]
