1. Sit down and write! You may have tons of ideas but until they get out of your head and onto paper/computer - you are NOT a writer.
2. Discipline yourself - set a day and time when you are going to write and do it.

Promoting the book! Not very creative writing but something I must do. However, I have been reading like crazy!!! I started with Maya Angelou's first book and am currently on the fourth book in her memoir series. I love being able to 'step into her shoes and walk her journey' as she writes. It has given me such a different perspective and understanding of life of a black woman.

My life experience. In December 2014 I blogged about our 2001 Christmas Letter where we informed readers about our decision to adopt and asked for their help in locating a birth mother.
The response from the post was overwhelmingly positive that I decided to share more of our journey the following months. Readers loved the story and wanted more. So, I decided to stop blogging and investigate how to write a book to finish telling the story.
