Writer's block doesn't exist. It's a bullshit term. Every writer has days of bad writing and that's what most people call writer's block. Writing is writing.
Now, when I have a dilemma, I go for a jog, listen to music, forget about it for a while. The story writes itself if you allow it to. That's where the write often comes into play. You need to be ready when the magic starts and you won't be ready if you're tweeting.

The freedom to express myself. Second is when I'm lucky enough to have readers read it.. I write for myself and when a stranger or a loved one genuinely engages with something, well, there's no feeling like it at all.

Write a lot, believe in yourself, and don't wait for inspiration. Do the work as often as you can, an hour a day, five to six days a week is all you need. Rejection is meaningless unless there is concrete advice on how to improve.

My most recent book was originally a movie script. The idea spawned over several drafts of rewrites. I'm a big fan of the TV show Supernatural, and wanted to write something similar, but set the story in the small town where I grew up. Autumn Dark is a love letter to my childhood.
