There is a character in my novel, Running Through Still Waters, named Ben. I like this guy, I enjoyed creating him as some may say he is vibrant while others may say he is tragic. There are hints of his story in the novel, and I want to develop him further as he has a lot to tell.
Other projects: A Second City Storm. The first draft is being edited and re-written. I'm hoping to have this finished by early next year. It is a story surrounding an Irish Catholic emigrant family caught up in the Birmingham bombings in the nineteen seventies.

My advise, don't let people put you off. Take criticism as a way to improve what you do. Go with your gut feeling, and write what you feel is right. The more you write, the more you improve. Sadly, there are people out there who will try to drag you down. Ignore those and concentrate on the constructive criticism. Believe in yourself, improve yourself.
Also, read. I believe the more you read, the more you become a better writer.

I tend to switch off completely, close the lid on the laptop and go make a cuppa or go for a walk. Sometimes, this helps.
