S.G. Savage I honestly do not know what that is! I believe this series was an answer to prayer. I wanted to address sex crimes against women and children, not only the history but where it could be going, especially regarding the internet and lack of education on how to protect our children and ourselves. The story started as one novel "Lydia's Legacy" and then I realized it would take at least 100 years (5 novels 1960-2060) to explore the past, present and future of the impact of these horrific crimes. The stories keep coming. My biggest challenge is making sure I have believable, yet exciting heroines and characters. Also, that I continue to add humor, adventure, new locations and am unique, so readers are entertained. It's not that easy, but I see it as a gift that I am very excited to accept.
S.G. Savage Writing fiction can take you and your readers anywhere you want to go. Adding, history, vision, romance and fantasy allows the creative juices to flow. You do not answer to anyone, you do your own thing and love every minute of it. I have experienced true freedom in writing this series and think that is how everyone's life should be, free to be who they want to be and experience setting "No limits" for where your writing can lead you and your audience.
S.G. Savage Write, write, write. Do not worry about what people think, edits, if people will read it, anything, simply write! I chose not to tell anyone that I was writing a novel until I was almost finished with book 1 and 2. Everyone is different, but if you are writing from the heart, from creativity, something you are passionate about, whatever, it is a part of you. After your thoughts are down on paper, find someone you trust and share. When you are ready to turn it into a book, ask other authors in your genre, who they used to edit, do their book cover, or assist with marketing. Also, if you can put some money aside to help cover the cost, do it when you can. Do not let anyone discourage you, no matter what.
S.G. Savage The cover for book 2 and editing book 2, "Lu's Liberation." Also, a campaign to identify organizations fighting sex crimes confronting women and children and partnering with them so they may obtain proceeds from books. Book 3,4,5 are in the works. Last but not least, I am searching for a screen writer, because the ultimate goal is to take the novel series from the "shelf to the screen." The larger the profits, the more I can assist organizations to combat these horrific crimes.
S.G. Savage In part, I felt writing would leave a legacy about something I felt very strongly about. Also, when I first went to college I wanted to be an investigative reporter and journalist. Thirty years later I am taking what I have learned from experience in social work, nonprofits and education. I love researching history and watching what is occurring in the world today. I am inspired by everything I mentioned to "make a difference." Writing can do that, I hope.
S.G. Savage My mother was named after Lydia of Thyatira in the Bible. I studied what I could find about Lydia and was amazed at the impact one woman could have on all of Europe. After 25 years in careers advocating for the advancement of women and children, I wanted to do more. I was outraged by the spreading of sexual abuse and especially sex trafficking. I have always believed in God's angels and the struggle of good and evil amongst humans. Lydia's League of Angels is my effort to entertain, educate and inspire readers about crimes confronting women and children and the need to eradicate horrific crimes. My hopes for this series is that it will raise awareness about many things; healthy relationships between a man and woman, choice of passion verses purpose, love over lust and faith verses fear.
