Ellie Mitchell Hmm, I don't plan a summer reading list, per say, but I'm looking forward to reading The First Confessor (Terry Goodkind), Children of Time (Adrian Tchaikovsky), and more of Christina Henry's work, for sure.
Ellie Mitchell To the Midlands, from Terry Goodkind's Sword of truth series. I would love to join the Mud People's clan, to be a member of a close and proud people, that foster a sense of community, spirituality, and fierceness.
Ellie Mitchell The shadow darted before my eyes, slipping the knife from the counter with ease. There was no escape, only the crushing black oblivion of death.
Ellie Mitchell Hmm, that's a tough one. I would have to say the mystery of how hormone imbalance affects embryos in the womb, leading to a mismatch of gender identity and primary sex characteristics.
Ellie Mitchell Richard Cypher and Khalan Amnell from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series. They compliment each other's personalities perfectly and although they have their moments/rows, they always help each other to get through hard times.
Ellie Mitchell 'Sweet Memory?'
If you are referring to 'Sweet Surrender,' then there is a kindle edition, yes. :)
Ellie Mitchell Actually, yes. I am currently in the process of re-drafting a psychological thriller based around a seventeen year old girl with a mysterious psychic ability.
Ellie Mitchell Although all of my characters are very dear to me, I would have to say Violetta Flame. I found her so natural to write. I love her passion and her drive, and really hope to further explore her in future books. :)
Ellie Mitchell For me, the best thing about being a writer is being able to create a different world within our own, a world that can draw people away from the harsh realities they experience each and every day. :)
Ellie Mitchell Read and write as much as you can. Explore the styles of different authors and focus on reading books from the genre you intend to write in. Practice is key. Everyone will tell you that. Always remember to do your research, whether your book is factual or fiction. Learn new writing techniques and skills and always strive to improve your work. There is always more to learn and if we are humble enough to seek it out, then we will triumph in our efforts. :)
Ellie Mitchell 'Sweet Surrender' was a novel that I greatly enjoyed working on. The idea originated from my intense interest in films containing elements of magic. Books relating to magic had also always fascinated me, so the idea of two opposing main parties; Flame Princess Violetta and Frost Emperor Ryore, seemed only natural. I would daydream about a world where magic thrived, and also of a world where magic had become terribly fragmented. As the ideas began to go off on a tangent, the tiny isle of Peradon was born and my story began to come to life. :)
Ellie Mitchell I am currently working on a young adult thriller novel called 'See.' It is based around seventeen year old Evylia Wilde, who has endured strange visions since her early childhood. (Frequent updates are available on my official website: see link on profile.)
Ellie Mitchell I find that writer's block is best eased by performing simple tasks. Whether you wash some dishes or work out, little things help to preoccupy the mind. Only when you rest it and do not force it to work, will you eventually overcome your mental block. :)
