Kate Watson Justification for my often disturbing browser history.
Kate Watson I try to always end in the middle of a scene, when I know exactly where I'm going and what comes next. That way, when I start my next session, I don't have any wasted time, and I have the momentum and flow to begin a new scene without pausing or deliberating.
Kate Watson Well, this basically speaks to the core of my being: Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth, Jane and Mr. Rochester, Veronica and Logan, Finley Price and...oh wait, was that last one self-indulgent and almost spoilery? Yes, yes it was.
Kate Watson I find inspiration overrated, because it's (for me) totally passive. Inspiration hits when I'm doing a routine task like folding laundry or showering. It doesn't take work. But writing an actual book does. It can be hard to sit down and have the discipline to stay off of Twitter and Instagram and Pottermore. Sometimes when I sit down to write, all I want to do is take yet another Buzzfeed quiz to find out what type of cheese/cupcake/jungle animal I am. But that doesn't put words on the page. So as much as I enjoy inspiration, doing the actual work of writing matters a lot more.
Kate Watson I'm currently drafting the companion novel to SEEKING MANSFIELD, tentatively called SHOOT THE MOON. Think Great Expectations meets the movie Rounders.
