Hello Alex, I'm so excited to have discovered your Robyn Bailey series. It sounds like it will tick all of my boxes! My question is, do you have a favored site where I should buy the series in ebook form? I'm trying to buy from sellers who support authors the most. Thank you so much!
Alex Clare Kate, thanks for your interest and for your kind thought.

There are 3 books in the series but, unfortunately, only two of them are available as paper books. For those, I'd always suggest your local, independent bookshop as first choice for a purchase.

Online, I'm not on Amazon, so all 3 are available via Kobo. Would love to hear what you think of the stories.

My brother has really enjoyed reading the Robyn Bailley series and I've been searching for the third book. Only recently found your post about the publishing company going under and am really disappointed, but I was wondering if there was someplace I could buy a physical copy of He's Back?
Alex Clare Hello, thanks for getting in touch. I'm so glad your brother enjoyed the books.

Unfortunately, no physical copies of He's Back were produced. It is available as an ebook from a number of sources (not Amazon). I know it's not the same as a physical book - I much prefer turning pages to swiping screens but I hope this helps.

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Alex Clare Easy one - Gormenghast. I want to lurk in the shadows and watch the arcane rituals.

Having said that, I'm not sure I'd want to spend that long there, so perhaps follow it with a visit to somewhere more wholesome like Narnia...

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Alex Clare I'm looking forward to reading some non-fiction. I'll be visiting France this summer, so I have a history of the French nation and some sword-rattling history of the 100 years war, plus I've got an account of a year in the Amazon jungle, just for contrast.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Alex Clare In a nearby village is a road with the same name as where I live. I found this out when we got mail incorrectly delivered, which has now happened a few times. One day, I found myself walking down this particular road and began following the numbers, curious to see the house with 'my' address. There was no house. The numbers went up 2, 2, 4, 2, 2 - there wasn't even a gap where a house could have been. I want to know where this house is and who lives there...

How do you get inspired to write?
Alex Clare I do have a routine, with set times to write, so when I open my laptop, that's it. Ideas pop in anytime though, so the key thing is to write them down before I lose them.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Alex Clare I look around and ask myself 'why' something is happening. Why does that woman keep checking her phone? Why does that man keep twisting his wedding ring? The world is full of stories...

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Alex Clare The chance to create worlds of your own. It's also very satisfying to be able to write about bad things happening to deserving individuals (especially after a hard day)...

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Alex Clare Write as much as you can because everything gets easier with practice. Read as much as you can to see how others do it. I found joining a writing group helped, both to spend time with like-minded people and to receive feedback on my work.

What are you currently working on?
Alex Clare I'm working on the sequel to 'He's Gone', which will feature DI Robyn Bailley and her team in a new case.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Alex Clare I watched the UK parliament debate Equal Marriage in 2013. Some of the attitudes were so extreme, it made me wonder what would happen if someone with intolerant views met someone LBGT, especially if they were depending on this person for help. 'He's Gone' came from me exploring these questions.
