It’s probably not a surprise that I really love Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite kinds of catnip! A modern novel, Dark Fever by Karen Marie Moning, has a beautiful slow build of frenemies to lovers between Mac and Jericho. LOVED this series!

In my mind, I had much of all three books outlined. Book two and three are a continuation of Lily and Aiden's story.

Life inspires me! The people you meet, stories they tell, watching interactions at restaurants, amusement parks. . .everywhere!

I am currently working on the sequel to Water Lily. The working title is Fire Lily :)
Water Lily was a stand alone novel, but Aiden and Lily's story continues.
What happened to Callum Keegan? Will Aiden's half-brothers confront them? What will his stepfather do? Why was the owl so prominent in the the first book and will we see it again? Will Cora find her brother, Toby, and what of her parents? What makes Lily "special?"
All of these questions will be answered in Fire Lily!

Write! And don't be afraid to write imperfect prose. Your first draft will suck. Big time. "Fear of sucking" kept me from even beginning my first draft for many months. Then, when I'd written my first paragraph, I spent several more months attempting to perfect it. Guess what? By the time I finished my final draft, that paragraph was cut! The lesson here? Write. Don't focus too much on what you wrote before--keep moving forward. Revise and edit later!

I get to work in my pajamas and my coworkers are snuggly cats :)

I find that sitting to write in a new place helps with writer's block. Gathering my notes and laptop, I head to the library, the park, or even just to my back patio. I read the last page or so of my draft. I proceed to write the internal dialogue of my protagonist. What does she want? How is she feeling? Now, does any of this end up in the final book? Nope! But the exercise usually gives me a direction to head in.
