When writing my Born Series I think my background in Political Science and Philosophy helped a lot! Learning about all the great philosophers who founded democracy was extremely beneficial when writing about a tyrannical government.
Many of the processes in our constitutional republic I learned in Political Science will be discussed as I continue to write my second series The Pride and Honor Series.
I think overall my writing tends to roll towards the political arena because it's what I kinow. Thanks for the question!!

Sometimes when I'm blocked I will go back and read everything that I have written so far. That way I get more in tune with the characters again. I have become a firm believer in the idea that the characters write their own story! I didn't used to be like that, but when writing Born For War, I realized my characters were taking me places that I had never even thought to go. It was an eye opening experience for me!

I got it from things that were happening in society already. I thought about the way things were going and what might happen if we didn't make a significant change. I came up with Born To Resist.
