This is a long story, but the short version is that I wanted to know what it would be like if the world knew for certain that heaven and hell, angels and demons, were all real.
From there, I wanted to know what their personalities would be like. What problems do they face? What do they hate? Who do they love?
And finally, how would humanity react if we could see them, talk to them, and be killed by them? Curse the Day and the Unveiling series is an exploration of this.

Seeing, reading, and hearing other great stories. This can be a simple conversation in a coffee shop, a video game plotline, or an entertaining movie.
I think it's important to just be open to having ideas and inspiration from anything at any time. You never know where a small idea may take you.

Getting the word out about my first novel, Curse the Day. I want as many people to enjoy it as possible, whether that's 1,000 people or 1 million.
Knowing Curse the Day is book one of my series, I'm also developing book 2. I can't stand when there's 5 years in between book releases in a series so I want to make sure that doesn't happen.

Do everything you can to figure out your own style. It's the difference between writing for function and writing with passion.
Also, don't write for an audience, write for yourself. The audience will come to you for the style and stories you tell.

For me, it's knowing that I can move someone with a story. I can create emotions inside them based on the words I wrote. I think that is an incredibly powerful thing and something that every writer should recognize.
A book that makes you get emotionally invested and engaged; that's one of the best feelings in the world.

I go do something else. Go for a run, play a video game, go get coffee—anything but continue writing. Once you realize that getting stuck is inevitable there's a sort of acceptance with that. Because you'll soon be past it and can pick up right where you left off.
When you force your hand in writing it's awful. And the audience can tell. Know when to take a break and do you best to be patient.
