Pamela Perry My advice to any aspiring writer is to never give up. As cliché as that sounds, it's so very important. Writing is a journey of time and thoughts and personal victories and failures. When giving it your all, it can get overwhelming and discouraging when things don't happen as fast as you want them to. There's a lot to getting your book completed and published. Research your genre. Research your age group. Research the publishers you wish to submit to and revise when needed. Most importantly, be willing to take criticism. It's not always nice, but it's always beneficial. I have been told things I didn't want to hear, but because of it I revised and got published.
Pamela Perry I have always loved a good story and I love writing my own stories down. My inspiration comes from my desire to speak to young people. All the pressures of growing up can be overwhelming, so I aspire to offer a little laughter, a little advice, and a little twist in there somewhere.
Pamela Perry I'm currently working on the second 'Emma Sawyer' book. She is now in high school with a whole new set of friends and a whole new set of issues.
Pamela Perry I'm usually drinking a Starbucks coffee while I write, so I sip and think, then sip and write, then sip and think again. If I have total writer's block I try to imagine if I was watching a movie, where would I want to see the story go next? Standing and stretching helps, too!
