Fiona Tate I don't think I've been writing long enough to experience writers block. I know that some days the words are more difficult to find than other days but there's always something to work on and you can always return to projects that you've left alone for a while.
Fiona Tate Just do it. And don't spend any time worrying about whether it's good or not. It doesn't matter. What matters is that you're letting your imagination run wild and the creative part of your brain will thank you for it.
Fiona Tate Letting your imagination take you to all kinds of weird and wonderful places.
Fiona Tate I'm currently working on my first full length novel, titled "The Childless Mother." It's a vampire novel, but it's mostly about women, both childless by choice and by circumstance. It's very therapeutic and I hope entertaining. As it's a heavy topic I try to inject a fair bit of humour in there as well. I intend it to be the start of a series, and I'm looking forward to finding out where the other characters in the book will take me when I tell their stories.
Fiona Tate My Crypt and Type O Negative! I have my own room in our house, which we call the crypt. It has black wallpaper with stars all over it, bats covering the ceiling, Vampire dolls and all kinds of delicious things. Type O Negative's music adds to the mix.
Fiona Tate I've always loved Vampires, right from a young age when they still scared me half to death and back then, I only had the classics to choose from . Then that genius, Joss Whedon created Buffy, the series not the movie, and I finally had some decent vampires I wanted to watch. As far as books went though, there didn't seem to be anything worth reading, so I vowed and declared that one day I would write the Vampire book that I wanted to read. Then life got in the way and it wasn't until recently when I found myself trying to work through some personal losses that I decided to finally write my Vampire book. So, it started as therapy really. The Twins Begin is a teaser for the upcoming novel and was really written for fun.
