To part one: I am a bit of an exploratory writer. I tend to come up with a character first, and then build the story around them. I will have major plot points that I will string into a general plot, but I haven't had much luck with detailed outlines. I prefer to follow a very loose outline, as I find the characters evolve as I write and what I envisioned them doing no longer suits them by the time I get to later plot points. So I try to be flexible in my storyline.
Fantasy is a draw for me in writing because I love world-building. Coming up the rules of the world, the cultures, the languages, etc. are a large part of why I find writing enjoyable. Sience fiction would be a good fit for me as well, I just haven't gotten around to it!

I don't have any plans for mystery novels, no. I'll have to look into Overdrive. I'm not directly in charge of distribution, so I'll need to see what the rules are for my audiobook and ebook, as they are different contracts. As the ebook is on Kindle Select, I can't post it elsewhere at the moment. The audiobook is distributed through Findaway.

Marcus opened his eyes to see his wife's body in his open bedroom closet. Odd, as he'd just buried her in the garden last night.

I would go to my own world (the one in Elf Mastery) because I would be God there.

I didn't read much this summer unfortunately! I have stacks on my shelf I still need to get to. Would still like to finish Wheel of Time - got stuck on Book Eight a few years back and never finished. I also have a journal of psychology on fiction and literature that I've been dying to finish but seem to have misplaced. It's a lot more exciting than it sounds.

My apologies as I just saw this question. At the moment I am doing Master's coursework as well as trying to finish Book 2 and beginning for the next 3. Because of my schedule I will not be doing any beta reading for others until I graduate, which will likely be middle of next year.

The first one that pops into my mind is the Thrénardiers from 'Les Misérables' (and in particular their portrayals by Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter). While despicable as individuals, they work with such unity in their dirty dealings and stick together through hardship and trouble. Terrible people, and cruel parents\caretakers, they are somehow still a perfect fit for each other.

I use a lot of beta readers and have a weekly workshop. If I get stuck I have other people that can toss ideas my way.

Many people who wish to write never finish a book! So first write a book. Then, realize writing the book was actually the easy part. You need to keep going to edit the book and get it into people's hands.

I'm working on the sequel to 'Elf Mastery', which is under the working title 'Elf Doubt'.

I've always loved making up stories and have many that I have written and never published. I don't think I need inspiration to come up with ideas; I just need to kick myself in the pants to get it written and edited.

'Elf Mastery' evolved over time, and was originally planned as a TV cartoon. I had a pitch bible and everything, but decided it would be better to do as a book. The setting was developed first - the idea that our world was operated behind-the-scenes by elves and fairies. I made a conscious decision to make the story character-driven, and so developed a set of characters to be at the forefront. Some characters are based on characters from classics (ie. Eunoe was originally based on Marcella from 'Don Quixote') and others were just made up.
