Whitney Cason I actually have been thinking about this over the past couple of days. I just went book shopping for Mother's day, and went through some of the books in my mini library to see what I wanted to start getting into this summer. This is what I came up with:

Queen Sugar
The Hate you Give
The Blackbirds
Gone Girl trilogy

I am going to attempt to get through all of these books this summer, but this may spill into the fall. I'll possibly be adding to this list because my "to be read" list is miles longer than this :( I buy more books than I can read !!
Whitney Cason Hmmm....This is actually a really good question...so good, I have no idea how to answer it LOL!

I don't know if I have anything mysterious enough for the plot of a book, but I think the mystery of my self-confidence would be one. A lot of things my family say "I don't know why you feel....." about things would probably strike up a good couple of pages for a book. Not sure if it would be enough for a book; maybe a decent short story though :)...
Whitney Cason That is a really good question, actually lol!

I'll be honest, I don't have a favorite fictional couple, but I do love reading about couples that are similar to your average real life couple. For example, in my book, Chante and Trey are an ideal couple that I would enjoy reading about. They have realistic problems just like any other couple would have. When I developed these two characters, I didn't want them to have some unrealistic lifestyle, or be a couple that no one could relate to. I'd rather read about those types of couples, instead of what one would call a "perfect" couple, where nothing bad ever happens and they live happily ever after. Sometimes, couples don't live happily ever after.
Whitney Cason I have been writing poetry since I was in elementary school. I had always had a dream to write my own novel, and one day have it sitting on my bookshelf with some of my favorite authors. For years, I thought this dream was unattainable.

Now, I am a published author, my book is sitting with some of my favorite authors. I have inspired myself in a way because I accomplished the goal I set out for myself as a writer and the joy I feel is beyond words. Now, I never want to let that feeling go away.
Whitney Cason A sequel to Playing with Fire, and a collection of poetry that I have written over the last couple of years. It's always been a personal goal to publish a collection of my best poetry, and I am getting closer to that goal.
Whitney Cason Never stop writing, and never give up on your dreams. Patience is key.
Whitney Cason The joy of having someone identify with your writing.
Whitney Cason Usually I will take some time and listen to music, or read other books that are in the similar genre as what I'm currently working on. Reading other books is the best way to get my creative juices flowing !
