I walk away. I don't force it.
I've learned...even if I have to walk away for months, it will eventually come together. If I force it or stare at the blank page too long, I only get more frustrated and I won't do my story any justice.
I take a break...but when I get an idea, I run to the drawing board.
Yes, this has happened at 3 in the morning. I have woken up from a dream that gave me my next move. THIS is why I leave a notebook and pen next to my bed at all times.

The best thing about being a writer is that I can pretend anytime I hit the keyboard...and then come back to washing the dishes and drinking my hot tea if it gets too intense. It's an escape and an outlet and I am so thankful to God for letting me write.

Do it!! Just do it...start somewhere, because no matter where you start, you're starting! If you never make millions...at least you tried and trying is more than most attempt in a lifetime. Good luck...I can't wait to read your work.

I am currently working on "The Italian Job." The Italian job is the story of Charlotte and Alex...two characters that I have been falling in love with long before they made it to paper.
This will be a more mature piece and hopefully it will showcase my growth as an author.

Mostly....my need to be successful. Success for me is probably not what it is to others. I define success by finishing things I start and making those that love me proud. I write for my husband...my children...and my readers.

My most recent...published book...is "Sonny with a Chance," Where did I get the idea for that book? I think that falling for the older brother is a classic love story that can be manipulated in endless ways. Hence...my story came about...with my own twist.
