Nick and Nora Charles in Dashiell Hammett's Thin Man. I love the witty decadent dialogue. I strive for that in my novels but come no where close. The only writer I know who can pull this off today in Lawrence Block in his Bernie Rhodenbaugh burglar series. Love his writing.

I plot. I really get excited to write when I have a new plot twist staring me in the face. I can't wait to sit down and work on it.

Being able to be creative. Sorting through ideas until they work. Rewriting! I actually love rewriting and crafting sentences until they sing. (You would not want to see my first drafts. They are nothing more than extended plot outlines.)

It started with the court scene and expanded from there. The book is actually a combo of two book ideas I had. My editor Lorin, told me to combine the two plots into one. I'm glad I listened to her!
