Barbara Schlichting Deb, I should’ve contacted you so I apologize. I was kicked off. Some scammer got into my PayPal account and placed a 200 dollar ad that was unacceptable. Then the F also got into my other credit cards. It’s a mess. Facebook has been a pain. God only knows if I can ever get into it again. It’s been horrible. Email me at jackpinescribbler@hotmail.com or schlichtingbarb@gmail.com. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Barbara Schlichting I can tell you a personal horror story, if you'd like. I was in a kayak on Lake of the Woods with a friend and it tipped over. I blacked out and she had to go under three times and pull on my hair until I finally opened my eyes.
That was a scary.
Barbara Schlichting I would either love to visit Three Pines and meet Louise Penny's cast of characters or else St. Mary Mead and help Miss. Marple solve a few crimes.
Barbara Schlichting I'd like to read more of Agatha Christie, actually, and I started reading Louis Penny. I hope to read a few books from her series. How about you? What will you be reading?
Barbara Schlichting That's a toughie. There's a few things that I've always wanted to know and will never be able to find out but they pertain to family members. I'd like to know what happened to my aunt. Dad would never speak about what happened to her. Both of my grandma's were deceased before I was ever born. I'd like to know what my life would've been like had they lived and/or how my mother's life would've been like had her mother been able to raise her. How she was affected by it. So-maybe this is my mystery?
Thanks! You got me thinking.
Barbara Schlichting That's a hard question to answer because most characters are alone, but I love Louise Penny and her Inspector Ganache. I think he's as good as Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot.
Barbara Schlichting I figured that the flag will always fly but the stars became a little bloody in the book. My character had to save the banner for history. It was kind of a roundabout way of thinking.

Did you enjoy the book?
Barbara Schlichting Unfortunately I got rid of them when we moved thirty years ago, they were cumbersome to keep. Now I dearly wish that I had. Chris knows me better than anyone on earth because of the writing. When you write, all your emotions surface. We're very good friends to this day.
Barbara Schlichting It seems that I've been writing my whole life. I have had an English penpal for over fifty years. We used to write constantly but now we see each other on Face Book. I have visited her a couple times.
In school, I never minded writing assignments. My friends did, but I always enjoyed writing.
Barbara Schlichting I love American history and Dolley Madison was my favorite First Lady.
Barbara Schlichting I work in the schools. There's a wealth of inspiration from children.
Barbara Schlichting I am editing a third book in the First Ladies series.
Barbara Schlichting Read just as much as possible. When you finish one book, pick up another.
Barbara Schlichting I love to be able to put my thoughts on paper.
Barbara Schlichting I add something like a letter or a picture to the picture which adds another dimension to the scene.
