My first fictional series. The N.I.C.D. Files book 1 Unsightly Things. The stories are set in a universe where supernatural and mythological beings live side by side with humans, unbeknownst to the humans. N.I.C.D. is the Nonhuman Investigative and Compliance Division, basically the FBI of the nonhuman world. The stories are dark, with a sarcastic but jaded protagonist and her partner dealing with the worst and least cooperative Arcanus (the overall name of all nonhuman entities). I wanted something with less romance and cheesiness of many YA books and supernatural stories and more darkness, thriller aspects. I am hoping to publish by the end of 2017.

I wrote poems and stories for almost twenty years before finally publishing. Never stop writing, write and read as much as possible, and never second guess yourself. Write your story first, don't go back and reread or edit until you have written the whole thing. You are your own worst critic and will sabotage yourself if you second guess while still writing.

Read, read, read! I also use a notebook to jot down any and all random ideas to maybe turn into something later.
