So many books so little time, right? I've purchased 11 new books recently, many from fellow authors whom I've had the privilege of meeting through my writing groups, workshops and a recent author showcase. Between my own writings and working on the Prequel to my own novel, Bona-Fide, that's just celebrated its first year of being published, I've got three I'll be reading at the same time being I've already cracked into the first chapters of these particular ones. The first is Susanna B Lewis's "Suspicion On Sugar Creek" . Next being, Nancy Heartly's "If The Creek don't Rise, and then there is the one that I picked up over coffee today, "Ardenia Dovie's Card Catalog" by my new friend Jan Huneycutt Lightner.
Now, I've just noticed that the first two books have the word "Creek" in them and though it's not mentioned in the title of the last one, I'm sure that little girl "Ardenia" will likely end up in or near a creek, given that the setting for that story is in rural Arkansas, where creeks wind through the hills and little girls like to dip their toes in the water when given an opportunity.
Well, that's my line up for the next few months with eight more new books and counting for my summer reads. Now, check back with me soon to see if I got to those others yet. But no high expectations with my own book tour still in progress. It's going to be an exciting summer!
