I read an article about a woman who had made a list of sixty things she wanted to do in the year leading up to her sixtieth birthday. Then I heard her interviewed on Woman's Hour and thought 'I could do that'. My reasons for making a list were very different from hers, and my list was very different but I was inspired by the general idea.

Make a time to write every day and just sit and do it. Don't worry if it doesn't produce much at first but a regular time if you can manage it helps to create a habit. At one time I used to write between 10pm and 11pm - always sitting in the same chair with the same pen and the same mug. The familiarity helped to create a sense of security.
