I'm fortunate that I've never had it.

I love movies and when I write I feel like I'm watching a movie. When I wrote Vatican Protocol I couldn't wait to see what happened next, even though I was the one writing it. Every day is an adventure to see what happens next. I don't outline or do extensive story-boarding. I get a concept of where I'm taking it and sit back and see what happens. The important thing is to get the story written and then modify it as required. I use the entire story as my outline and then find what needs fixings, editing or modification.

1) Research your subject
2) Keep writing
3) When you lay in bed at night consider where you may take your story. Let your subconscious work while you sleep.

I've finished my next novel, Serial K and it's being shopped to the big guys. I am partially through its sequel.
I also have a partially finished manuscript called Shapeshifter where I'm weaving together eastern European superstition and folklore with Native American beliefs into a novel. I put it on hold until I could meet with a Shaman in Minocqua, Wisconsin and tribal elders in Lac Du Flambeau. Those meetings are set for next week.

I enjoy it. The key for me is preparation. If I understand details about the subject, the words can flow. If not, I'd have to manufacture the story and I wouldn't do that. It has to flow like a stream.

The idea and inspiration for the story came from several shows on the history channel. When I learned of the UFO crash in the Black Forest and the fact it was taken to Wewelsburg Castle, I started doing research. The story then came together.
