I'm currently working on the second installment in the Unearthed saga, Allegory of Pain. This book is intended to be more ambitious in terms of science fiction elements and more expansive in terms of character depth.

The idea spawned around the shiny blue tattoo that's on the front cover of Unearthed. I wanted to create a society that was bound to exile and where each of its members were permanently branded in a strange way. I also aspired to combine this with a countervailing leader that was wise beyond his years and had an innate drive for ameliorating oppression. From there, the supernatural elements that were already floating around in my mind just had to be baked into the story.
