One day I was listening to he morning news as I dressed. I heard about a man who found a wedding band on a golf course with the words, RILY Forever. Instantly, an idea formed in my head and soon the characters began to haunt me, demanding I write their story.

I have loved to read since I was child. Expressing myself in the written word has always been what I do best. When my children were grown and settled and my day job was solid, I gave in to my dream of writing fiction. It was the best decision I have ever made.

Currently, i am preparing to release my debut novel, RILY Forever. I am halfway through the sequel - In My Dreams. I have also finished another novel, Forget Me Knot, and will be looking for a home for it. Finally, I have started outlining a new novel, Gravity.

Write! Words on a page. Any words, any page. Write anything and everything. Read! Read really good authors that inspire and delight you. Find a mentor and seek advise. Put yourself out there over and over again. Never, ever give up, but always try to improve your writing.

Writing allows me to sink into someone else life. I can go anywhere and do anything. I can be anyone. When my real world gets to be too much, I create another to live in for a while. The characters become my friends and I miss them terribly when I finish the book and have to create new ones immediately.

There are a few different things I do. I live in the forest on a lake. Sometimes letting the Great Dane take me on a walk helps. Reading some of my favorite authors, watching Game of Thrones or Outlander, or whatever my current obsession, is helps. But the thing that helps the most is walking away from the computer and denying myself the pleasure of writing for a few days. I miss it so much, all the juices start flowing soon and I come back strong.
