B.J. Phillips I grew up in Florida, so writing a book about my home state was easy, even though when I started it I was in California. I think I was homesick even then. In the middle of writing it, I moved back to Florida, just like my main character did. The rest just came to me.
B.J. Phillips I'm always inspired to write. I wake up that way. I see the person in the car next to me and wonder what is going through their mind and where they are going...and my whole day goes like that.
B.J. Phillips I'm currently working on the sequel to Hurricane Season. It's tentatively titled Snowbird Season. I also have a mystery in the works and ideas for a bunch of other books.
B.J. Phillips If you need to write, want to write, have to write...then do it. Then don't quit!
B.J. Phillips Doing what I've always wanted to do. I never wanted to write "the great american novel" but things that I hope are fun to read.
B.J. Phillips I haven't had writer's block yet. If I'm feeling a little stalled with what I'm working on, I pull up another project and work on that. Laundry is always a good way to distract my mind. Or chocolate. Or ice cream.
