Hi agian, one more question :-), what is the difference between a Mary Jane book and a Lisa Swift book? Do you know ahead of time who you are writing or do you ever write a book and then decide, thats more of a Lisa book or more Mary Jane?

Mary Jayne Baker The Lisa Swift books tend to have more emotional or grittier themes included than my MJB ones (although still with plenty of humour!) I’d say they straddle genres between romcom and uplit, whereas my MJB titles are pure romcom. Plus they have different publishers! I usually come up with a premise, decide if it’s more Swift or Baker, then ask my agent to pitch it to the appropriate publisher. So I do know in advance of writing, and that dictates what I might decide to include in the story.

Hi Mary, I was wondering if The School of Starting Over or any more Mary Jayne books will come out in Audiobook? Thanks

Mary Jayne Baker I'm afraid the answer is that at this point in time, I'm not sure! My publisher will decide whether to release an audiobook version, and also a paperback, based on a number of factors. I hope so! I'll let you know if I hear more. When You Were Mine was released as an audiobook at the end of February.
