Recognise what you are getting into it is one thing to know and be passionate about your subject but it is hard to sit down and bring it to life in the pages of a book.
Get yourself a good Editor who knows a little but not too much so that the will challenge your work at every turn - it is very easy to slip into assuming that your readers will know what you mean!
