Isabelle Crusoe I don't. I hate writer's block, and it hits me more often than I'd like to admit. I'm also a heavy procrastinator.
What I do, is I step away from the story/stories, and do other creative things.
I make book trailers, or draw, or play some visual novels. Anything to get into the right mood.
For my book Hiraeth, the trailer for Knights of the Fallen Empire is my go-to source of creative flow. It hits me like a ton of bricks every time I watch it.

"I'm a writer." Is a valid excuse.

I lost all my creativity after diving into book after book on "how to write". In the end, getting the story down is the most important part, not following rules.
