R.T. Truehall Absolutely hands down this has to be Buffy and Spike from the Buffy The Vampire Slayer series. They were instantly drawn to each other, though they loathed one another (kind-of like my real-life engagement to the love of my life). I cried when their hearts broke; I even had to take a brief hiatus from tv until I could stand to watch them and their pain. Pathetic? Maybe, but hats off to Joss Whedon and the rest of the writers for making me have feelings!
R.T. Truehall I'm working on book two of the Not Dead series, and another, unrelated novel called Femme World Order. FWO is a dystopian feminist story.
R.T. Truehall The idea for Not Dead came to me one day while I was daydreaming, and it evolved from there. I started to wonder what it would look like if vampires weren't all perfect, beautiful, stealthy killers. Honestly, Ulysses (Not Dead) is a lot like me: clumsy, lazy and a bit of an idiot.
R.T. Truehall Just write. Ask for feedback and be prepared that some people aren't going to like your work. Take advice on board. Get an editor who will be honest.
R.T. Truehall Being able to bring anyone to life! Having people tell me they were endeared to my characters is the best!
R.T. Truehall The biggest thing that I think helps if I feel blocked is to not stress about it. I put what I'm writing down, and trust that the ideas will return. What's the point of stressing? It won't help with the block.
