Great question! The leader of the Second Founding Fathers has not been introduced yet; however, in Chambers: The Origin Story, the leader of the SFF is a fictional news media mogul named Warren Valentine. If I ever do a prequel, he will be a main character! Valentine will make Chambers' antics look like child's play.

Good question! Videl is mysterious, even to me. I will say he is not a hero. I wouldn't necessarily call him a bad guy either, though. I think it's safe to say he is doing what he needs to do to keep himself alive in a very scary world. He knows that Chambers will only keep him around if he is of use to her. After that, he knows far too much and is a threat to her, and would be taken out quickly. I think he's very smart in maneuvering about the battlefield, knowing that he's on borrowed time. So, to answer your question, I wouldn't address him as either a hero or bad guy. I hope that a sequel will answer that question for you. You'll learn more about him and will have more evidence to make a claim. I'll be curious to hear your response in a few years! :)

You would be right in saying that it was a nickname, because the name, "Bear" was given to him to protect him from being reacquired by his father. He was taken in by Carlos as an infant. His mother died at the Resistance after escaping her estranged husband. Carlos knew of Bear's father; however, now that he is **SPOILER** no longer with the series, that door of disclosure is permanently sealed. A sequel would certainly go into Bear's family, and any further questions will be addressed! Hope that helps!

Bionics should be released in June or July of this summer! It is not a sequel to "Government", though. Completely different dystopian worlds! And I'm glad you're enjoying "Government!" Hope you'll like "Bionics" too when it's released!

It's quite cliché, but I can only suggest reading as much as you can. You'll find what you like, what you don't like, and then with that, you'll be able to use your experience of studying a text as a tool to coach your writing.

So glad you liked it! In the writing of the book, I didn't want to get too much into the backstory because I knew someday I would write a prequel. I'm hoping to get into the creation of the Second Founding Fathers, the release of the vaccine, Dr. Videl's early story, and of course, Gloria Chambers. It isn't a "Government" novel without her. :)

I am currently writing my next novel, 'The Bionics.' Essentially, after a serious computer malfunction, anyone who has an "update"-- a futuristic way of enhancing one's personal body-- becomes controlled by a single operating system that wants to eliminate any normal human. It's going to be a fun ride!

The idea for 'The Government' stemmed from the most recent disease outbreak, where it was highly recommended for all to get the vaccine. My brain started working, creating a story plotline. I thought, "What if there was a disease that never actually existed and the vaccine was intended not to cure or prevent, but rather, infect the mass-population?" And from this, 'The Government' was born.
