Sorry, just saw this. Yes, the next book will be out in mid-summer. Probably late July.
Stacey Reynolds
It's never too soon to ask. My best guess is sometime in August or first week in September.

Hello! I just spoke with Podium Audio, and the release date is set for mid-June. The pre-order should start sometime in May!
Stacey Reynolds
I've already started the book. As I get further into it, I will make an announcement. Until I have a book cover, I won't announce it on Goodreads, but you can definitely jump on social media. Facebook, Instagram, or eventually a TikTok post. I'd say probably late August for a title reveal.
Stacey Reynolds
It is on audio now! It released a couple days ago.
Stacey Reynolds
yes, absolutely. She will continue to be a background character until she ages up. Cora will definitely get her story.

I have another book in the series coming out in October, then will have a historical book 10 come out in the spring of 2023. There are definitely more books in the future. Thank you for asking!

From your mouth to God's ears. There's always a chance, I suppose, but it's less likely for an Indie-Author. Who would you cast? I have decided Theo James needs to be Brigid's husband Finn. Yep.
Stacey Reynolds
Yes! Fio is bonus content at the end of the Shadow Guardian audiobook and Dark Irish is at the end of Irish Midwife!

I was buried alive, but I wasn't alone. I felt the stale breath on my neck.

Wow, tough one. Well crap. It would have to be Hogwarts, wouldn't it? I mean, is there even a question? Narnia would be pretty good, but there's not a spells class or flying brooms in Narnia. And that floo powder would have come in handy when my husband was in Iraq #FlooPowderBootyCall

This is a question passed on from messenger. It's a tricky question, because I'm always writing. If I am not at the computer, it's swirling around in my head. I write in my head every night before I drift off to sleep. I can't help it. But the simple answer is about four months for the first draft. That seems fast, but that's the actual key board time. I research ahead of time, I plot it out in my head, then at some point I say "go!" Once I start the prologue or first chapter, I plug away at least ten hours a week until I'm done. Maybe more. And that first draft is just the beginning. I only have one beta reader that reads that draft, because it is ugly and unedited. I've been thinking about book 4 for probably six months. I can't actually sit down and write it yet. Too much going on with the book releases ahead of that one, but the continuing story of the O'Briens never really stops for me. The hard part is the editing, the rewrites, the additions and subtractions. The cover design, the formatting, all of that takes way longer than the three to four months. If I hit a school break in the middle, I have to set it aside for a few days which is maddening. I just can't be productive when everyone is home.

That's tough. I love Sophie and John from Susanna Kearsley's The Winter Sea. I also love Nathaniel and Boots from The Wilderness Series!

Updated- The truth is that all of the O'Briens and some other characters have their stories to tell. It's continuing for me, like one big never ending story with branches that web out into other stories. Book 3 started to develop while I was writing Book 2, because Tadgh needed his story. The other lads needed to grow up a bit. Book 4 started coming to me around the same time and nagged at my mind incessantly. I had to tell this particular O'Brien to wait his turn or I was never going to get Book 3 written. And it was crucial that Book 3 get written to set up Book 4. "Liam, patience is a virtue. It's not your turn. Now get your ass to Brazil like a good lad."

Life and interests. I love to travel to knew places. The settings, the food, the people, the music of a region, they all inspire me. The characters follow suit, because they start appearing shortly after.
Stacey Reynolds
I actually just started book 3, Shadow Guardians. I am editing along with my beta readers, Book 2 which is a process. A Lantern in the Dark will be having a cover reveal on Sept. 1st on my website. It will have a synopsis reveal Sept 7th. God willing, the book will be out by Halloween, but definitely out by Thanksgiving. Other than that, I have some fun short short stories that will be released during the twelve days of Christmas. Those will only be on my website and totally free. www.staceylreynolds.weebly.com

Just do it. Don't do it because you want fame. Don't try to write based on a trend. Listen to the story that's in your heart and mind and do it. A lot of people wonder if they could ever write a book. Wondering doesn't get it written. I put off writing the first one for probably two years because I just wasn't there yet. I hadn't decided I could do it and manage my life at the same time. I was afraid it wouldn't be any good. Then I just said to myself, "This story in your head isn't going away. It's getting gas. If it's bugged you for this long, it's time to write it down. Even if it's just for you."
Stacey Reynolds
It's something that's mine. It's not about money or recognition. It's about expressing my need to create something, watching it grow and change. Being a mother and wife, especially in a military family, is all consuming. At some point you look up from the blur of moves and school engagements and dirty dishes and smelly diapers and say, "What am I doing for me?" The great thing is that I take my brain with me wherever I go. So, that and a laptop means my job can move with me. But the very best thing is holding that finished book in my hand like a newborn. I made it.
Stacey Reynolds
The practical answer is that I sometimes take a break for a couple of days, which is easy since I have three kids. My advice is to work on something else or read a great book. Get some sleep, press on, use the time to edit. The real answer is that I don't believe in writers block. I think sometimes your brain needs a pause to work through a story, or part of a story, and that you need to take a step back and think about it.
