Sorry this may be a dumb question but do you still find use in the snape book even with a video on youtube telling us about him?
Lorrie Kim Hello! I've found that with this character in particular, because of the rich way he's written, every reader has a different take on Snape, so no two discussions about him are the same and that variety is fun and useful in itself.

It was a delightful read. I can't wait to get my son into HP and then turn him to Snape! How old do you think a reader should be before grasping the impact of Snape on English literature? I honestly don't know anything about children's reading development.
Lorrie Kim From what I've observed, as long as kids are old enough to read the books or have them read, they form their own opinions of Snape and it's interesting to ask them why they think that way. Sometimes their perspectives are completely different from an adult perspective, but every bit as valid!

Will you be writing any more books? I just finished reading Snape: A Definitive Reader and it blew me away. Your analysis made my love for the character grow leaps and bounds!
Lorrie Kim Thank you so much! Yes, I'm currently working on an update chapter that looks at Snape and Cursed Child. I have plans for a future book that deals with the Potter series as a whole, as well, although those plans are not yet set.

I was a little disturbed when you pointed out early in Snape: A Definitive Reading, that the time place and method used by Dumbledore to reward Gryffindors (Sorcerer's Stone) was cruel to Snape and Slytherin House. This was perhaps a lesson to Slytherins that the methods used - re. Malfoy's ratting for one - to cost Gryffindors points were unfair, and a lesson to them that fairness counts. Another possibility?
