Hello! I've found that with this character in particular, because of the rich way he's written, every reader has a different take on Snape, so no two discussions about him are the same and that variety is fun and useful in itself.

From what I've observed, as long as kids are old enough to read the books or have them read, they form their own opinions of Snape and it's interesting to ask them why they think that way. Sometimes their perspectives are completely different from an adult perspective, but every bit as valid!

Thank you so much! Yes, I'm currently working on an update chapter that looks at Snape and Cursed Child. I have plans for a future book that deals with the Potter series as a whole, as well, although those plans are not yet set.

Russ Terrell: I claimed I would be able to post a real answer in a few days, and that was way more than a year ago! Apologies... and I did not forget the question. I looked back at that chapter and found that I remembered incorrectly what I had written. I thought I had made more mention of the effects of the Slytherins' unfair methods to get ahead in points, but you're absolutely right: I skipped right over that aspect of the situation, which was a major issue, and went only to the aspect that was unfair to Slytherins, which was secondary. It resulted in an unbalanced and incomplete take on that scene. Thank you very much for helping me see the inaccuracy. I will definitely revise for the second edition.
