Music that fits the mood of what I am working on; artwork - if you write historicals, fantasy or sci-fi this is the best freaking thing you can do to get your mind jumpstarted. Go look thru pintrest or any artist board where artists post up their sketches and photoshop paintings!; Dictionaries work too - its amazing how learning a new word can spark a new scene or fresh improves on a pre-existing scene.

My best friend is an avid reader of HF but he wanted to read one where the main character related gay regardless if there was any romance or not. He said he was happy with the few he'd come across, so he asked me to write one for him. He also stipulated it also had to have a lot of sword fighting LOL.
