The writing and publishing world has changed a lot. People often submit and submit and submit to literary agents and publishers with no luck. My best advice is, if you believe in your work, don't wait for someone to validate it. Go forward on your own! Overnight success is not the norm, especially if you don't already have a large platform of some sort. Write because you love to write, put in the necessary work to promote and advertise, and repeat. If your work is received well, other opportunities may follow. Good Luck!

For me, the best part of being a writer is getting to use the creative side of my brain. When I'm writing, it's like I'm not there. That side of my brain takes over, and it's pretty cool to see what evolved once I take a step back.

When writers block hits, I often have to step away from the project for a moment. Sometimes my mind is in the mood to create and sometimes it's not. I have found that ideas flow the best right before I go to bed.
