Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy, hands down! First of all, the sexual chemistry is just off the charts. I mean, you just know they can't wait to rip each other's clothes off, even as they are being all curt and angry with each other. The only thing stopping them from ravishing each other is decorum and God, which still counted for something back in the 1700s. So they exercise all that tension away by doing lots of walking in their huge gardens and being snarky, which is so fun to witness. Get married already you two! Geez. Can you imagine what their make-up sex is like? So hawt. If you allow me to pick another couple from films, then it has to be Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. Here everything in Jane Austen is reversed - sex first, love later; the woman is doing the courting, not the man; reputations and dignity are not to be upheld, but to be redeemed. But again, the sexual tension cuts like a knife, but even with release, they realise they need more. We need more. Fall in love already you two! Geez. So delicious.
