Never wearing pants. Just kidding. The day after my first book came out, I woke up to a message from a reader saying how much she enjoyed my book and was looking forward to the next one. When I started writing, it felt like a long shot that anyone but my family members and a few friends would read my work. To have a stranger read my book from cover-to-cover on release day and take the time to let me know she liked it just floored me.

I don't know that I believe in writer's block. If I can get my butt in the chair and my hands on the keyboard, I can usually write something. It might be total crap, but I can edit crap later. The problem is that I hate that, and I really like writing prose that makes my hair stand on end from the beginning. One of the things I'm continually working on is getting myself to accept imperfection--even in my prose.
