Caroline Woods Hi Louie, this is a great question! I've been digging deep into the 1920s lately in my own upcoming work, but I think the Middle Ages are actually the most fascinating to me as a reader. Two recent favorites set in that time period are ISOLA by Allegra Goodman and MATRIX by Lauren Groff. I'm in awe of their courage and skill in tackling such a long-ago era.
Caroline Woods I'll be answering a question a day for the two weeks leading up to the launch of THE LUNAR HOUSEWIFE, and this seems like a good place to start!

My great-grandmother had three half siblings who she lost touch with as a child. When their mother died in the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918, all of them were put in a Catholic orphanage. Eventually, her grandparents came to get her brother and herself, but the three younger ones--presumably because their parents weren't married--had to stay in the home. We've never found out what became of them or their descendants, despite the living members of my family trying hard for decades to find them.

I'd imagine this kind of story is actually (sadly) quite common among families.
Caroline Woods Summer reading is the best. I'm starting with COTTONMOUTHS by Kelly Ford, then moving to CONVICTION by Julia Dahl, THE MOTHERS by Brit Bennett, WELCOME TO BRAGGSVILLE by T. Geronimo Johnson, ARE YOU SLEEPING by Kathleen Barber, THE BIRTH OF VENUS by Sarah Dunant, and finally THE SILKWORM by Robert Galbraith.
Caroline Woods Hi, Mike! I'm sorry for the delay. It was a wonderful book. I got an e-copy directly from the author. Would you like me to ask her if I can pass it along to you?
