Most publishing deals are not so good and you won't make money when you start. But you will learn the process and that is good. Also, invest in a good free-lance editor. Make your book the best quality you can. People will enjoy it more if you do.

I suppose it came from having a disabled Mom who had limitations in how well she could really listen to me. So I talked to my journal. I have always enjoyed getting my words down on paper. These journals have turned into books now.

My company was sending me on a business trip to Australia. I decided to bring with me my husband and niece and extend our stay so we could see the country. But at the airport we discovered Australia has a visa requirement. No one in my company travel agency told us. We tried to obtain one at the airport using their web site but it was so cumbersome we didn't get it in time to make our flight and the trip was cancelled. I was very upset. So I wrote down the story. That felt good, so I kept writing my stories from my career and a whole book emerged in only a few months!
