Endless Meghan Warner I take a walk, talk it out to myself or whoever's around, usually get a whiskey at Little Joy and scribble down my thoughts on a napkin. Writer's block is only a wall of thoughts, once I get those out, I'm solid and sometimes I find a great piece to write about in those thoughts.
Endless Meghan Warner Since I've been reading pieces of Last Chance for a Slow Dance at community/group readings, friends and strangers have come up to me saying how much this book has meant to them because they relate so well to the characters. This makes everything worth it because as a writer, I've always wanted to give someone that "best friend book" that understands them like no person does because there are some things you just can't find the words for.
Endless Meghan Warner Just do it. Rejections will come, those are as inevitable as death and taxes. I started 2121 Books because I was tired of trying to fit into someone else's market. Also, don't pay someone to read your work. If your friends aren't being honest and telling you this and this sucks because there's a giant plot hole, but the rest is good -- find someone else to read it. But don't pay to play.
Endless Meghan Warner Part 2 of Last Chance for a Slow Dance, a recipe book by Tim Baxter of Baxter's Speakeasy, and hopefully a tour in December and/or spring.
Endless Meghan Warner I live. I go out and experience things. I love music, my friends play music, make art, go camping. We drink, party, do dumb things we probably shouldn't have survived. I do read, but I don't want to regurgitate someone else's book when there are so many people with great stories, my own included, that would make a better book.
Endless Meghan Warner A week after my ex broke up with me, we were hanging out with a group and we immediately fell into an old habit of hanging on each other, smiling back and forth, even making out in a kitchen at someone's house. I realized on our way back to my house that if he were a little happier and I were a little less happy, we could make it work.
