The best way for me to deal with writer's block is to pick up a good book and read. The ideas start flowing. Also, a change of scenery does wonders for me and that doesn't mean a vacation. It could be a bus ride across town, sitting in a cafe and observing people, or just talking a walk through a new neighborhood.
