Carol Matas Have a look at my website, www.carolmatas.com and you will find a very long answer to that question. The short answer is that a friend wrote a story, shared it, and i was inspired to try it myself!
Carol Matas I would definately go to Oz, meet Dorothy and have a boxed lunch picked off a tree. And then go on adventures with her.
Carol Matas "Who Am I?" is my most recent book, just released. I think it is so interesting to ask the questions asked in this novel- what does it mean to be human? Miranda needs to question everything that she thought was real when she discovers that she is the first human clone.
Carol Matas I am about to start work on a sequel to my books After The War and The Garden.
I am also working on promotion for my newly released book "Who am I?" about the first human clone.
I am also working on my 4th Freak book and looking for publisher.
Carol Matas Don't give up! Persistence is the key. My first book was rejected over 20 times. And i still get many rejections for books. But I'm stubborn and I keep trying. Somewhere - if your book is god enough- there is a publisher that will like it. Of course it has to be "worthy." I am known for doing a minimum of 10 drafts a book!
Carol Matas The feeling that you are doing something worthwhile. I know I can't change the world with my writing- although when I was younger I thought I could- but I can do my bit to help make it a better place, whether through just giving the reader a fun read, or making them think about how to make the world a better place for all.
Carol Matas I make sure I am sitting at my desk. There is no writer's block if you are working. It might not be a brilliant day but you can always rewrite.
